UKCC Course Funding

LEVEL 2 BURSARIES

Eligible regions - North East/ Yorks and Humber / East Mids / West Mids / East / London and South East / South West

This is a national bursary scheme offered by England Netball via National Skills Academy (NSA). Bursaries are available in areas where external schemes do not exist. For funding support in the North West or South East region candidates must apply for support through the schemes detailed below. In the event that candidates do not meet the criteria for the North West or South East schemes applications can be submitted through the NSA route.

There are a total of 180 L2 bursaries available @ 66% of the total course cost. Bursaries will be awarded on a first come, first served basis to candidates who meet and can evidence the criteria below

  • Affiliated to England Netball – member affiliation numbers must be clearly stated on course booking forms
  • Candidates must be currently coaching in one of the following England Netball priority programmes:

  • Back to Netball Scheme
  • Excel Pathway (satellite, county or regional academy)
  • CAPS club
  • Committed to developing a new junior club / junior section 

Please clearly highlight the programme you are coaching within using question 4.3 of the bursary form (please select the ‘other’ option and then state one of the programmes above)

Candidates must highlight on course booking forms that they have applied for a bursary. The deadline for NSA bursary applications is 31st March. Bursary decisions will be communicated to candidates w/c 5th April.

LEVEL 3 BURSARIES

South East

There is a regional bursary in the South East for UKCC Level 2 and 3. Eligible coaches can access £200 towards the cost of a Level 2 and £462 towards a Level 3. All courses must be completed by the end of December 2010. Eligibility is as follows. All applicants should:

  • live or coach within the South East region (Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire & IOW, Bucks and MK, Berkshire and Oxfordshire) assessed by the postcode of the applicant or of the club
  • be 19 + years old
  • be endorsed by the relevant NGB and / or CSP
  • hold sufficient pre requisite qualifications for either Level 2 or 3 UKCC
  • be currently employed as a coach or coaching voluntarily
  • not be in full time education (unless the course is completed during the summer holidays)
  • agree to the terms and conditions of the bursary

North West

There is a regional bursary in the NW to support level 2 and level 3 coaching qualifications.

The funding is 60% of NGB/UKCC level 2 & 3 costs, capped at £200 for level 2 and £300 for level 3. All applicants should:

  • live or coach within the NW region assessed by the postcode of the applicant or of the club
  • be 19 + years old
  • be endorsed by the relevant NGB and / or CSP
  • hold sufficient pre requisite qualifications for either Level 2 or 3 UKCC
  • be currently employed as a coach or coaching voluntarily
  • not be in full time education (unless the course is completed during the summer holidays)
  • agree to the terms and conditions of the bursary

East

There is a bursary in the East to support Level 1,2 and 3 coaching qualifications. Coaches can access 100% funding for their qualification. All courses must be completed by the end of December 2010. Eligibility is as follows. All applicants should:

  • live or coach within the East region (Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Herts, Beds, Cambs) assessed by the postcode of the applicant or of the club
  • be 19 + years old
  • be endorsed by the relevant NGB and / or CSP
  • hold sufficient pre requisite qualifications for either Level 2 or 3 UKCC
  • be currently employed as a coach or coaching voluntarily
  • not be in full time education (unless the course is completed during the summer holidays)
  • agree to the terms and conditions of the bursary
