Affiliations Online Submissions
There are not any official EN "cut-off" dates for Clubs that affiliate online, and pay direct to EN. Clubs will be able to affiliate their players online for the 09/10 season when the system is made 'LIVE'. The 'LIVE' date was previously 1st August 2009, but as this is a Saturday, and as there would be no online support available at Head Office, we have delayed the 'LIVE' date to Monday 3rd August 2009 at 10.00am.
The following should be noted to ensure eligibility for EN competitions, and to ensure participants receive their magazines on time:
· To register for EN competitions and events starting in September, participants must be affiliated and paid by 11th September 2009 for manual affiliations via County, and by 18th September 2009 for clubs submitting online. After a club submits its first return, they may continue to affiliate players online at anytime. To be eligible for an EN competition or event, participants must be affiliated and fees paid to EN no less than four days before the competition
To ensure that full Insurance Cover for a participant is activated for any netballing activity, i.e National Training Courses, from 1st September 2009, the participant must ensure that they are affiliated and fees paid to EN no less than four days before this event. After 1st September 2009 a participant will not receive Insurance Cover until 09/10 affiliation is activated and fees are paid.

In addition to the direct benefits that you receive, or opt into, England Netball is constantly working to raise the profile of netball with agencies and organisations so that the sport can continue to develop and, hopefully, receive the recognition it really deserves. Since 1998 netball has featured in the Commonwealth Games and has now been nominated a "Core Sport". England came 3rd at the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games which is one place up from their 4th placing in Manchester in 2002.
A major part of England Netball's work is centred on securing the future of the sport for young people - without them there would be no future for netball. Resources are available through England Netball Merchandise, as well as the Development department to support clubs and schools that are willing to enhance their support to young netballers. England Netball has been, and continues to be, a strong supporter of the Active Sports Programme - a government scheme, funded by the lottery, which helps put resources into the grass roots of the sport.
Much of England Netball’s work is unseen by members but is immensely valuable. It includes work with:
Sport England – netball is one of a number of sports rewarded with an enhanced service which can include an increase in our annual grant to support development. Sport England has an enormous influence on other agencies and they will be constantly promoting netball on our behalf as well.
scUK – (Sports Coach UK) has appointed an officer to work with governing bodies. One day a week has been allocated specifically for netball to support us with our work on Performance and Excellence.
The Youth Sports Trust – works with eight sports including netball, promoting the sport as well as providing education and training for teachers and coaches working with young people.
The National Lottery Board – To ensure that grant-aided facilities that mention netball are appropriate and affordable.
Manufacturers of Netball Surfaces – Ensuring that we can have netball surfaces that are non-slip even when wet.
Kit manufacturers – to help develop new designs and keep costs to netballers down.
Facility providers – to ensure that costs are kept to a reasonable level and the facilities provided are to a recommended level.
Local Authorities – to ensure that netball is included and promoted in their action plans.
Local Education Authorities – to ensure that netball remains a major curriculum and extended curriculum sport.
Regions, Counties and Leagues – To encourage development so that clubs can be sure of the advice they should be receiving from them.
