Rules Update
Rules Update - October 2008
The response to these workshops has been very encouraging both by attendance and the feedback. Any negatives comments seemed to arise from the players rather than the officiating side e.g. ‘Whilst the session was good it was not really relevant to the majority of England Netball players at a local level.’
England Netball made the decision to deliver the same workshop session throughout the whole of the country to ensure standardization and we believe that this has been achieved.
The rules changes are relevant to all involved in our great game and of course in some situations local level might have to slightly adjust their understanding of some of the new rules i.e. what if the team does not have a Primary Carer?
Hence the reason that England Netball will be taking on board comments over the next months on how the new rules are working throughout all levels play.
Some questions regarding interpreation are slowly coming through and when avialable and appropriate confirmation of any interpretations will be posted on the RULES DIRECTIVES page
Following the delivery of regional workshops by Cheryl Danson, Sheelagh Redpath and Bill Alexander, Counties and leagues are currently disseminating the new rules within their local areas. It is hped that by the end of December all counties / leagues will have gone through this process.
